Information Regarding the Google DeepMind Scholarships
This is big news that ITU Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Applied Research Center (ITU AI) and Google DeepMind have announced Google DeepMind Scholarships for the Fall 2024-2025 Term. This scholarship scheme will be offered to female graduate students at ITU specializing in AI (artificial intelligence).

About ITU Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Application and Research Center
It was founded on 2nd December 2018. The center began working very actively after the kick-off meeting that took place on 24th April 2019. All members of different faculties of Istanbul Technical University and the executive board participated in this meeting.
About Google LLC
It is a largely renowned American multinational corporation and technology company that focuses on search engine technology, online advertising, computer software, cloud computing, e-commerce, quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and consumer electronics.
Eligibility Criteria for Google DeepMind Scholarships
There is an eligibility criterion that needs to be met for applying for this opportunity.
International applicants are welcome to apply.
This scholarship is for female candidates.
Google DeepMind Scholarship is exclusively for students admitted to one of the eligible M.Sc. programs in ITU and is available for the fall 2024-205 term (check details at https://lee.itu.edu.tr/en/home for applying to graduate programs at ITU). The applicants are required to apply to the aforementioned programs whilst they apply for the scholarship. The eligible programs include:
- Electrical/Electronics Engineering
- Computer Engineering/Computer Science
- Control and Automation Engineering
- Physics
- Game and Interaction Technologies
- Mathematics
- Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering
Note: For non-computer engineering/computer science tracks, this scholarship will be provided only to tracks with a research focus on AI (artificial intelligence). For Masters students, they are required to pursue 4 AI electives and additionally, they should write an AI-related thesis.
Offered Benefits
- This scholarship will last for 4 semesters for the MSc program.
- Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend worth USD1000.
- There is a one-off equipment grant available amounting to USD1500.
- Successful candidates will also receive an annual academic travel grant worth USD 2250.
- There will be a mentorship opportunity as well. Each recipient will be matched with a researcher from Google DeepMind to get a mentorship on personal career development in the area/field of AI (artificial intelligence).
Deadline for the Google DeepMind Scholarship Program
The deadline to submit the applications is 14th June 2024. Interested candidates must be fast to submit their applications.

How to Apply for the Google DeepMind Scholarship
Before or by the deadline, applicants are required to send their application documents to info-ai@itu.edu.tr.
Following are the documents required to be submitted with the application.
- Resume/CV
- Academic transcript of the applicant
- Up to three reference letters are required
- A statement of purpose is required that shows the candidate’s previous research experience in artificial intelligence along with their future research objectives for their graduate studies.
Note: Applications carrying missing documents will be straightly ignored. Applicants should visit the official call and learn all the details carefully before submitting the applications.
